Concrete Core Drilling and the Price of a Core Hole – Do the Math Before You Pay

If you are looking for concrete core drilling for gas, plumbing, AC or drainage pipes, your first question will be: "How much per hole?". Before you agree with anyone, learn how the price of a core hole is worked out, and count how many holes you will be paying for… you may find it comes close to the price of an original core drill that stays with you and lets you drill yourself.

What sets the price of a core hole?

  • Hole size: the bigger the diameter, the more expensive the bit and the slower the work, so the price goes up.
  • Concrete thickness: a hole through a normal slab is not the same as one through a beam or a thick concrete wall.
  • Amount of rebar: heavy reinforcement slows drilling and wears the segments faster.
  • Where the work is: the floor and height, whether the hole is in the ceiling, a wall or the floor, and whether water and power are available on site.
  • Number of holes: on a small job, the technician's trip and moving the machine are charged even for a single hole.

That is why there is no fixed price per hole; everyone prices by the job. Ask for the price, type it into the calculator below and see the result for yourself.

You pay for a hole once… the machine makes holes every day

A core drill pays for itself within the first few jobs, and every hole after that is pure profit for you – whether you drill for your own work or take on core drilling jobs for others.

  • You will learn fast: with the machine you get our free core drilling video course, from unboxing the machine until you drill on your own.
  • Safety: original Oubao and Cayken machines have a safety clutch that cuts the drive if the bit suddenly jams, protecting the operator and the motor.
  • Your work never stops: if the machine breaks down within one year of purchase, you get a free replacement machine to keep working until yours is repaired.
  • The bit is not thrown away: when the segments wear out, segment fitting brings the bit back to work.

The machine comes without bits, so you only buy the bit sizes your work needs.
